Office Lens – Windows universal app is here!
Office Lens is definitely my favorite app! And so I'm proud to announce a new version: the Office Lens Windows universal app! That's correct: you can now use Office Lens on your Surface or Windows laptop.
I've been working together with the Office Lens team in Japan and was priviliged to get a pre-release look at the new app. Let me show you how to install and use the app!
First open the Microsoft Store and search for Office Lens.
Hit Install. Open the app.
The app automatically detects documents and finds its edges. Hit the camera icon.
Office Lens automatically straightens up the image. You can still delete the image or change the boundaries.
Hit the checkmark to confirm. In most cases you don't need to do this step.
Office Lens allows to scan pictures, documents, whiteboards and business cards.
You can switch at all times in the right upper corner.
Hit the save button at the bottom.
Change the files' name. You can export to OneNote, Word or PowerPoint or save on OneDrive, as PDF or in the Image Galery folder.
By bringing it to Word, you can directly edit the text, which is very cool since we started by scanning a paper document!
You can directly edit and format the text.
